Responsible for 12,000 people, delivering over 10 million engineer visits per year and fulfilling customer’s in home needs for appliance, service, repair, installations and smart metering, Matthew is certainly kept busy. Field Operations also includes our Dyno (plumbing and drains franchise) and PH Jones (social housing) businesses as well as the Planning and Dispatch teams and the National Distribution Centre (delivering 10 million parts per year to engineers serving our customers). During his career Matthew’s roles have varied across the whole company including time in the Residential Energy business (the operations for British Gas Business) as well Managing Director for the PAYGE, Central Heating Installations and Service & Repair businesses. He represents British Gas on the Board of Energy and Efficiency Industrial Partnership which pioneers new approaches to recruitment, training and development of skills (particularly with young people).
